We represent numerous cities across Texas as general, bond and special counsel.

We guide these cities in all aspects of their administration, growth, development and governance, including:

ADMINISTRATION

We are well versed in the administration of all types of municipalities, and have developed a streamlined practice that is capable of providing all of the administrative services required by our city clients. We routinely assist our city clients on matters involving the Public Information or Open Meetings Acts, drafting new or amending existing ordinances, employment issues and franchise agreements.

LAND USE AND ZONING

We regularly counsel our clients on various matters relating to land use, development and zoning. In addition to representing the Planning and Zoning Commissions, Building and Standards Commissions and Boards of Adjustment of our municipal clients, we have participated in the development of comprehensive zoning plans and overseen numerous public hearings on zoning issues ranging from planned unit developments to variances and special exceptions.

ELECTIONS

We regularly handle all election matters on behalf of our city clients. Specifically, our attorneys are highly experienced in all aspects of conducting mayor and city council member, bond authorization, maintenance tax authorization, confirmation, creation, assumption and annexation elections.

EMPLOYMENT

We have a broad range of experience in employment and employee related matters. We regularly counsel clients with respect to such matters as worker’s compensation claims, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, employee theft, terminations and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We also assist our clients with the development and implementation of employee handbooks and policies and the negotiation and drafting of employment contracts.
